A 60-second portrait of two of the world's best youth boxers, Meryland Gonzalez and Steven Navarro.

The inspiration came from a saying that Meryland's dad, Jorge, calls her which is, "Concrete Rose"--meaning that she's an image of hope, resilience, and beauty emerging from a tough area. We hope Meryland's and Steven's stories not only inspire kids to take pride in where they come from, but also encourage them to fight for a better future for their communities.
